Holistic Centre for Yoga & Vedanta ( www.sdet.net ) is an ashram founded by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati Maharaj, in Amboli, Maharashtra state, India. This ashram is more known as ‘Yoga Ashram’ in the nearby locality in Amboli.

The course donation includes all tuition, accommodation in sharing rooms, uniform (two pairs of trousers and two t-shirts), course manual, kriya materials and meals. This donation does not include transport to and from the Ashram, yoga mat, cushion, and blanket. All donations are non-refundable. A student can transfer from one course before the start of that course, to attend another, once only. After this time donations are forfeited.

The main teachers for this course are Swami Govindananda, Swami Nivedanananda and Gopalkrishna Baliga.
The ashram has 46 beds; 17 rooms with double sharing and 2 dormitories with 6 beds each.
Admission is on a first come first served basis.
To maintain the sanctity of the campus, we accommodate guests on the following conditions:
• No consumption of alcohol & non-vegetarian food
• No smoking either on campus or outside while undertaking the course.
• Should follow the yogic way of life while in the ashram.
The main meals are provided daily twice at 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. The food is based on the South Indian tradition. Menus are vegetarian, simple, nutritious... and good tasting! Prepared with love and care according to yogic dietary principles, two buffet style, lacto-vegetarian meals are served daily. Absent from the menu are meat, fish, fowl, eggs, garlic, onions and coffee. A cup of tea is available at 7.00 am and 1.00 pm !!!
A free WiFi facilitiy is available. This will be restricted while class timings.
Mobile phone usage
Mobile phone signals from all major companies ( BSNL, Reliance, Airtel, Vodafone ) are available in the ashram compound. Guests may acquire a SIM card if they wish so, once they arrive in the ashram.
Use of mobile phones in all classes, dining areas and also inside the rooms are prohibited due to the respect to other’s privacy.
Incoming and outgoing post services are available at the Ashram reception.

There is no library facility in this location.
Valuables may be stored in the safe provided in the wardrobe in the guest rooms. The ashram encourages guests to use that facility and do not have any facility in reception areas. However this facility is provided at the Guest's own risk.
Do not leave valuables openly in the rooms as petty theft may occur. We recommend you not to bring high value items to the ashram as we cannot guarantee the facilities to secure them.
Batteries - a separate disposal bin is located at reception.
Money exchange & Travel arrangements
Amboli ashram is situated in a remote area. In the nearest bank - 500 m away - one can en-cash credit cards. It is highly recommended that the students encash ( if needed ) before reaching Amboli. For making travel arrangements please approach the ashram reception for guidance.
All guests must provide a valid government ID proof on arrival.
Foreign guests are required to present a valid passport and visa.
You are advised to contact your local medical centre regarding any necessary vaccinations or medicines for your trip to India.

How to reach here :
Those ashram guests who wish to be picked up by a taxi from the nearby airport / railway station / Bus station please email : email@example.com giving all the arrival details. This is highly recommended as the taxi driver from Amboli knows where exactly to bring you.
The nearest international airport is in Goa. Other International airports near by are in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore from where one can fly into Goa. One can travel by bus or taxi to the ashram location. Amboli is 110 Km from Goa airport.
The closest railway stations to the Amboli ashram are the ‘Sawantwadi Road' and ‘Kudal' stations which are on Konkan railway route. These are not major stations. All trains may not have stops here. Amboli is 30 Km from the station Sawantwadi Road. The major railway station Madgaon ( 110 km from Amboli ) is also along this railway route. The other major station close by is in Belgaum and this station is not part of Konkan railway route. All these stations are linked to all major cities in India by rail. Check with the South Indian railways for more details : www.indianrail.gov.in From these railway stations take a taxi or bus to the ashram. Amboli is 110 Km from Goa / 70 Km from Belgaum. Ashram guests who wants to arrive by train are advised to book rail tickets as early as possible. Trains are often fully booked. Train e-tickets can be booked up to three months in advance via the internet. Train information can be obtained via www.indianrail.gov.in .
