Course Details

The Level 2 Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC-II) is a four-week course designed for graduates of the Yoga Teachers Training Course (YTTC-I). The course builds on the foundation of YTTC-I allowing students to deepen their spiritual knowledge with intense daily practice of asanas, pranayama and bandhas. This course allows yoga teachers to deepen their sadhana (spiritual practice) and swadhyaya (self study) during four weeks of intense yoga practice and study of Hatha yoga, Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, Sanskrit, the Raja Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Vedanta philosophy and anatomy and physiology. The course is offered with Yoga Alliance USA/Ca RYS300 hour accreditation - once completed, the graduate of the course will be able to apply to Yoga Alliance for their 300 hour registered Yoga Teacher certification.

The YTTC-II is a natural step for YTTC-I graduates who would like to expand and deepen their practice and knowledge of yoga. The YTTC-II is an intensive and transformative experience.
Pre-Requisites

YTTC-II courses are open only to graduates of Yoga Teachers Training Course (YTTC-1) from SYVP, ISYVC ( www.sivananda.org ) and Yoga Vidya ( www.yoga-vidya.de ) in Germany (please contact us with any requests for exceptions).

A copy of the diploma of YTTC certificate should be included with the application form.
Curriculum  
Satsang: Satsang consists of silent meditation, chanting and a talk or reading on the philosophy of yoga and Vedanta. It will help you develop a strong and steady meditation practice.
Yoga Asanas: Progress in your yoga asana practice (advanced variations and prolonged holding of the postures), increase your concentration and learn detailed corrections.
Pranayama: One hour of practice each morning including advanced pranayama and bandhas.
Vedanta: Study of the different philosophical schools of India, vedantic theory and practice, and vedantic meditation techniques.
Raja Yoga: In-depth study of Patanjali Yoga Sutras for deeper understanding of how to control and eventually transcend the mind.
Sanskrit: The alphabet, pronunciation and the writing of sacred mantras.
Anatomy and Physiology: Functioning of the nervous and endocrine systems in relation to the practice of yoga.
Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga: Inner attitudes of selfless service; the nine modes of Bhakti as a means for transforming emotions into love and devotion.
Meditation: Guide to meditation, benefits of meditation, the use of mantras and mantra initiation.

• Attendance at all activities is mandatory. Changes in the program may occur from time to time as per the prevailing conditions.
• There is one day off in a week. Students are required to attend morning and evening satsangs and to complete their Seva duties. The rest of the day is    free for their personal study and activities.

Assessment and Certification

The students are continuously assessed throughout the course at all levels. There will be a written exam at the end of the course to evaluate the understanding of the philosophy of Yoga and skills of the students. Participants should pass all different aspects of the course to be eligible for the course diploma.
Assessment is based on:
1. Regular attendance of all classes
2. Attitude and behaviour inside and outside of the ashram while attending the course
3. Performance and attitude in the practical asana, pranayama, bandhas and kriya classes
4. Hatha yoga teaching skills
5. Written daily summary of the main philosophy classes and hatha yoga theory classes
6. Written examination of 3.30 hrs on the theories of Yoga and Vedanta philosophy.


Upon successful completion of the course students receive the Certificate of the Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham.
This training course fulfils the requirements for the Yoga Alliance 300-hour certification, for which graduates of the program are invited to register.

US$ 3200 per person - single accommodation. / US$ 2900 per person - sharing double room / US $ 2700 per person in Dormitory of 12 people

Presenters

The team of the teachers include Swami Govindananda, Swami Tattvarupananda, Swami Nivedanananda, Robert Sankara Moses, Mani Raman, Maheswara (Manfred Lehner) and Shakti (Simone Lehner). The main teachers of each course will be selected from this team. There will be also many other teachers to assist especially during the Hatha Yoga classes.

What to bring

Two pairs of Yoga Teachers’ Training uniforms.
Casual comfortable clothes, yoga mat, meditation shawl, toiletries, notebooks, pens, slip-on sandals, Warm clothing for very cool nights & cool mornings/evenings and clothes for warm days, rainwear, flashlight, insect repellent, alarm clock, travel mug/tumbler, water bottle, sunscreen...etc

A copy of the YTTC-1 certificate should be sent with the application form.

Once the filled application is received, the applicant will be sent the instructions on how to pay the deposit as well as how to pay the balance of course donation.

Please make a deposit donation of US$ 300 to secure your place on the course.

General Information

Please read course details as well as the course location information carefully before making a decision to register.

Total number of participants for any course is around 50

Admission to any course is on first come first serve basis.

All the courses are taught in English, there is currently no translation facility available into any other language.

Students should plan latest to arrive on the arrival day and depart on the day of departure.

It is recommended that Participants spend at least a few days in the course location before the start of your course. This allows the body and mind to have a little time to rest, re-energise and be nourished by the ashram environment. Participants can then begin their study feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Participants may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from the study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram.

Students are also welcome to contact the ashram directly if they would like to stay on in the ashram after the course participating in the karma yoga program (volunteer staff program). The karma yoga program is an excellent way to deepen your experience and understanding of yoga teaching.

If one decides to arrive early and also to stay longer, please register for the course program for those additional days.

To maintain the spiritual atmosphere we ask all ashram guests to comply with the ashram rules. Kindly refer to the Ashram rules and guidelines for more information.

The ashram reserves the right of admission and students may be asked to leave if their behaviour goes against the ashrams rules and teachings.

Please Note:

The balance of the course donation should be remitted one month before the course begins.

Course donations are non-refundable, however any unused amount may be transferred, minus an administration fee of US$100, to another course within one year of the original course starting date. Alternatively, a credit note may be issued minus the administration fee. Credit notes are valid for one year from date of issue and can be used for any other courses/ programs or for anybody recommended by the depositor and also for boutique items or any other supplementary services.
