Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham is an ashram/Gurukula system set up in the year 2010 to propagate the teachings of Yoga and Vedanta philosophy as given by one of the great and renowned spiritual masters - Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj.

Attending a Yoga/Vedanta course is a wonderful opportunity for spiritual aspirants to immerse themselves within a yoga experience; to develop personal discipline, a deeper understanding of the mind, body and spirit and connect with other like minded people within a world-wide spiritual community.

Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Peetham follows and shares the teachings of his Guru Sri Swami Vishnudevananda Saraswati - the five basic principles of Yoga:

proper exercise  / proper breathing / proper relaxation / proper diet / positive thinking and meditation.

SYVP’s courses are  delivered by

Swami Govindananda (the founder of SYVP),

Swami Tatwarupananda,

Swami Nivedanananda, and other monks and spiritual teachers from different traditions of India.

Under the umbrella of the Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham organisation, the different courses like short yoga retreats (on request), two week long Yoga camps and Yoga Teacher Training Courses are being  held in different parts of India and abroad from time to time.

Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham's Yoga Teacher Training Courses (YTTC-1) qualifies students to apply for Yoga Alliance (USA/Ca) 200 hour certification. The advanced level Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC-2) qualifies students to apply for Yoga Alliance (USA/Ca) 500 hour certification.
