Pre-Requisites / Course Eligibility

Open to all interested in advancing in Yogic practices.
This 12 day long program is open to all levels of Hatha Yoga aspirants who wish to deepen their knowledge in theory and practice.
Participants do not need to be experts in yoga sadhana.

Course Syllabus

Topic: "Advanced Hatha Yoga in theory and practice".

This 12 day long hatha yoga sadhana will emphasis on advanced asanas practice and theory on classical ashtanga yoga and hatha yoga.

Yoga sadhanas (will be taught by Bhooma Chaitanya) include:
Advanced Asanas.
Pranayama beginner and advanced levels
Yogic cleansing techniques (Kriyas) including Sankha Prakshalana Kriya.
Meditation and Kirtan - satsangs.


Lectures (will be given by Swami Govindananda):
Pranamaya kosa (Vital sheath), Pancha Pranas
Hatha Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga, basics of Kundalini Yoga.

Assessment and Certification

A certificate of attendance will be offered to the participants.
There is no any kind of examination for this course.

Bhooma Chaitanya : will give classes on Advanced asanas, Hatha Yogic Kriyas and Pranayama



Bhoomaji started practicing yoga in 1988. He has 20 years experience of teaching yoga. Born and educated in Kerala (South India), Bhoomaji entered into the monastic life of renunciation & spirituality at the age of 18. After seven years studying the Sanskrit language and scriptures in Sivagiri Math in Varkala, he moved on to Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, Kerala - for the intense practice of yoga sadhana (pranayama practice). From the Sivananda Tradition, Bhoomaji completed the Yoga Teachers Training Course and Advanced Teachers Training Course (ATTC) in 1996 and has also completed three Sadhana Intensive courses since then. After completing the ATTC, Bhoomaji lived in a cave for 5 months in Gangotri (the source of the Ganges in the Himalayas) for intensive yoga practice. He has also travelled to France, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Cambodia and Malaysia. During his stay in the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, Bhoomaji was teaching Yoga, as well as providing his voluntary services in other departments of the ashram.

Bhoomaji also studied Sidha Vaidyam (a form of alternative medicine in South India) and Marma Vidya (Pressure Point) from Rajkumar Aashan, in Marthandom, Tamil Nadu. He is registered with Yoga Alliance as an Expert Yoga Teacher. In 2002, he left the ashram and started teaching yoga in various parts of India like Dharmasala, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala.

Currently he is running one month 200 and 300 Hour intensive yoga teacher training courses in Kerala, India. He also visits abroad to take classes and attend various yoga conferences.

Swami Govindananda offers the lecture classes and satsang sessions. Other ashram staff members will be assisting to give all other sessions on hatha yoga, satsangs and ashram facilities to the participants.

Once the filled up application form is received and accepted the applicants will be informed by email, of how to proceed further in the registration process. To finish the formality of registration, applicants need to send an initial course deposit also.

Course donations are non-refundable, however any unused amount may be transferred, minus an administration fee, to another course within one year of the original course starting date. Or a credit note may be issued minus the administration fee. Credit notes are valid for one year from date of issue and can be used for any other courses/ programs or for anybody recommended by the depositor and also for boutique items or any other supplementary services.

General Information

All the courses are taught in English, there is currently no translation facility available into any other language.
