The daily course donation includes two sets of uniforms, course manuals, main text books, food & accommodation from the last arrival date to the first departure date, tuition as per the daily schedule shown below and the use of ashram facilities.

Pre-Requisites

The Advanced Yoga Sutra Meditation Intensive (Yoga Darsana - Level 2) course is only open to graduates of Yoga Sutra Intensive (Yoga Darsana - Level 1) conducted by Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham.

Interested students are advised to prepare by following a regular daily hatha yoga practice and a sattvic lifestyle. Sound physical and mental health is an important pre-requisite.

Course Details

The Advanced Yoga Sutra Meditation Intensive (Yoga Darsana - Level 2) is a four-week course designed only for graduates of the Yoga Sutra Intensive (Yoga Darsana - Level 1), who would like to expand and deepen their practice and knowledge of Yoga Darsana and Vedanta Darsana.

The course builds on the foundation of Yoga Sutra Intensive allowing students to deepen their spiritual knowledge with intense daily practice of Meditations techniques as prescribed in an ancient Tantra Yoga book called Vijnana Bhairava Tantra. This text is very authoritative and covers 112 different kinds meditations as per the ancient Kashmir Saivism.

This course emphasizes the study and application of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in detail and also allows yoga teachers to deepen their sadhana (spiritual practice) and swadhyaya (self study) during this four weeks of intensive program.

The approach to teaching is personal, focusing on the individual student.

Curriculum

In-depth study of Patanjala Yoga Sutra-s in its theory and practice for deeper understanding of how to control and eventually transcend the mind.

Study of the ancient Tantra Yoga book Vijnana Bhairava Tantra.

Explanation and practice of Meditation techniques as given in the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra. The theory given in the Yoga Sutras will be applied here extensively.

Guidance in Yoga Asanas, Yogic Kriyas, Pranayamas, mantra Japa and such practices will be given as per the requirement of the course.

Satsang: Satsang consists of silent meditation, mantra japa, chanting and a talk and arati ceremony. It will help you develop a strong and steady meditation practice.

Strict rules on satwic diet, observance of silence ( mauna vrata ) and other conducive daily life patterns will be followed as per the need of extensive meditations.

The course conducted in a manner of seclusion gives more importance on practical sadhana than the theoretical studies. For this the students need to refrain completely form the outside world ( use of mobile phones..etc will be strictly prohibited ).

Daily Schedule

The daily schedule includes:
- Practice of asanas, pranayama, kriyas, bandhas, mudras
- Study of Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, Yoga Sutra of Patanjali Maharshi
- Satsangs
- Two satvic meals per day
- Long time practices of guided meditations as per the text book.

• Attendance at all activities is mandatory.
• Changes in the program may occur from time to time.
• There is no day off during the course.
• The course Acharya may change the schedule according to the need of the students.

Assessment and Certification

The students are continuously assessed throughout the course at all levels.

Assessment is based on:
1. Regular attendance of all classes
2. Attitude and behaviour inside and outside of the ashram while attending the course
3. Performance and attitude in the practical asana, pranayama, bandhas and kriyas and meditation sadhanas.

Upon successful completion of the course students receive the Certificate of Training from Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham.

Presenters

The main teacher of the course will be Sri Swami Haribrahmendrananda Tirtha ji the Acharya of Adi Sankara Brahmavidya Peeth of Uttar Kashi, Himalayas.
The other teachers will be Swami Govindananda and Yogacharya Sudarsan.

How to register

The applicant should also email the diploma of the Yoga Sutra Intensive (Yoga Darsana Level 1), while sending the filled up application form.

Once the filled up application form is received and accepted the applicants will be informed by email, of how to proceed further in the registration process.
To finish the formality of registration:
Indian nationals : Need to send a non-refundable deposit donation of Rs 5000.
Non-Indian or non-resident Indian nationals : Need to send a non-refundable deposit donation of USD 300.

Please Note:

The balance of the course donation should be remitted at the latest by one month before the starting date of the course.

Course donations are non-refundable, however any unused amount may be transferred, minus an administration fee of US$300 in the case of non-Indian nationals / Rs 5000 in the case of Indian nationals, to another course within one year of the original course starting date.

Alternatively, a credit note may be issued minus the administration fee. Credit notes are valid for one year from date of issue and can be used for any other courses/ programs or for anybody recommended by the depositor.

General Information

Please read course details as well as the course location information carefully before making a decision to register.
Total number of participants for any course is around 50 or less.
Admission to any course is on first come first serve basis.
All the courses are taught in English, there is currently no translation facility available into any other language.
Students should plan latest to arrive on the arrival day and depart on the day of departure.
It is recommended that Participants spend at least a few days in the course location before the start of your course. This allows the body and mind to have a little time to rest, re-energise and be nourished by the ashram environment. Participants can then begin their study feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Participants may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from the study to integrate more fully into their consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram.
If one decides to arrive early and also to stay longer, please register for the course program for those additional days. The guest need to pay the daily donations for the extra days.

To maintain the spiritual atmosphere we ask all ashram guests to comply with the ashram rules. Kindly refer to the Ashram rules and guidelines for more information.
The ashram reserves the right of admission and students may be asked to leave if their behaviour goes against the ashram rules and teachings.

Students are also welcome to contact the ashram directly if they would like to stay on in the ashram after the course participating in the volunteer staff program. The volunteer staff program is an excellent way to deepen one’s experience and understanding of yoga teaching.
