Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham has taken on rent a part of the Kadaleevanam premises, for conducting all its Yoga - Vedanta Courses.
What is Kadaleevanam?
Kadaleevanam is a Trust formed by 15 families of Kodakkad village, whose main activities are organic agriculture (rice and vegetables) and organic milk production from a small cattle farm. A small portion of the land is used for yoga, Ayurveda and wellness related activities.
Kodakkad is a lush green, quiet and laid-back village of natural beauty. This village is situated in Kasaragod District in North Karala, South India.

Admission is on a first come first served basis.
To maintain the sanctity of the campus, we accommodate guests on the following conditions:
- No consumption of alcohol & non-vegetarian food.
- No smoking either on campus or outside while undertaking the course.
- Should follow the yogic way of life while in the ashram.

Payments by Credit/Debit cards, UPI, Google Pay...etc are possible.
Kadaleevanam, Kodakkad is situated in a slightly remote area.
In the nearest bank 2 km away, there is ATM facility where one can get cash by credit cards.
Another ATM facility is 5 km away in Cheruvathur.
It is highly recommended that the students get cash (if needed) before reaching Kodakkad.

You are advised to contact your local medical centre regarding any necessary vaccinations or medicines for your trip to India.
Safe Keeping
Valuables may be stored in a locked safe in the reception area, however this facility is provided at the Guest's own risk. Do not leave valuables openly in the rooms as petty theft may occur. We recommend you not to bring high value items to the ashram as we cannot guarantee the facilities to secure them.
Food
The main meals are provided daily twice at 10.00 am and 5.30 pm. The food is based on the South Indian tradition.
Menus are vegetarian, simple, nutritious... and good tasting!
Prepared with love and care according to yogic dietary principles, two buffet style, lacto-vegetarian meals are served daily.
Absent from the menu are meat, fish, fowl, eggs, garlic, onions and coffee.
A cup of tea is available at 7.30 am and 1.00 pm.
WiFi Facility
A free WiFi facilitiy is available. This will be restricted while class timings.
Mobile Phone Usage
Mobile phone signals from all major companies (BSNL, Reliance, Airtel, Vodafone ) are available in the ashram compound.
Guests may acquire a SIM card if they wish so, before they arrive in the ashram.
Use of mobile phones in all classes, dining areas and also inside the rooms are prohibited due to the respect to others privacy.

Incoming and outgoing post services are available at the Kadaleevanam reception.

Library
Guests are allowed to use a small library where yoga and spiritual books are made available. During a specified time of the day library will be kept open.

How to organise pick up by a taxi :
Taxi service can be arranged to pick up from Railway stations or Airports nearby / drop off from Kodakkad to all the major places nearby.
This is highly recommended as the taxi driver from Kodakkad knows where exactly to bring you.

By Air:
The nearest international airports are in Mangaluru (IXE) 104 km 2.30 hours. and in Kannur (CNN) 69 km 2 hours.
By Train:
Kadaleevanam, Kodakkad is 5 km from the closest railway station in Charvathur (CHV).
The other stations nearby are in Payyanur (PAY)- 18 km on southern side and Nileswar (NLE)- 14 km on northern side. These are not major stations.
All trains may not stop in these stations.
The major railway station in Kannur (54 km from Kodakkad - on southern side) and in Kanhangad (24 km from Kodakkad on northern side) are along this railway route. All these stations are linked to all major cities in India by rail.

From these railway stations take a taxi (this can be arranged by Kadaleevanam, if needed) to the ashram.
Ashram guests who wants to arrive by train are advised to book rail tickets as early as possible.
Trains are often fully booked.

General Information
Please read course details as well as the course location information carefully before making a decision to register.
Total number of participants for any course is not more than 30, usually.
Admission to any course is on first come first serve basis.
All the courses are taught in English, there is currently no translation facility available into any other language.
Students should plan latest to arrive on the arrival day and depart on the day of departure.
It is recommended that participants spend at least a few days in the course location before the start of your course. This allows the body and mind to have a little time to rest, re-energise and be nourished by the ashram environment. Participants can then begin their study feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Participants may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from the study to integrate more fully into their consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram.
If one decides to arrive early and also to stay longer, please register for the course program for those additional days. The guest need to pay the daily donations for the extra days.

To maintain the spiritual atmosphere we ask all ashram guests to comply with the ashram rules.
